On a cold Saturday in New York City, the world’s largest train station came to a sudden halt. Over 200 Improv Everywhere Agents froze in place at the exact same second for five minutes in the Main Concourse of Grand Central Station. Over 500,000 people rush through Grand Central every day, but today, things slowed down just a bit as commuters and tourists alike stopped to notice what was happening around them. We’ve just launched a new site for Improv Everywhere Agents worldwide: Improv Everywhere Global. After the success of the 10-City No Pants! Subway Ride, we decided it was time to have a dedicated site for folks around the world who are interested in organizing and staging their own Improv Everywhere-style missions. The site is pretty feature-rich.
You can:
- Create your own member page complete with Agent Name and Location.
- Create your own group page for your hometown and start organizing with others near you.
- Start discussion threads and brainstorm ideas at the local level.
- Participate in global discussions and plotting.
- Upload photos and video.
We will also keep maintaining our Facebook Group, but this new site will hopefully be an easier tool for Agents to get involved.
So for everyone who’s ever written us and asked how to get involved outside of NYC, here’s your answer. Enjoy!

This afternoon we had around 900 participants in the 7th Annual No Pants Subway Ride. The crowd was so large that we spread out over three subway lines, using the 6 (per tradition), R, and 2 trains. The NYPD was there to escort us just like last year, and they were extremely nice. Everyone ended up together in Union Square for a giant above-ground pantless gathering in the nice 50 degree warmth. If you were there, please take a few moments to leave an agent report in the comments. With 900 riders, I’m sure there are 900 different stories. We will be using this page to compile links to photos and video as it becomes available, and sometime in the next few days we’ll create an official mission report.
