This week’s Video Vault features an extended look at our 2005 U2 hoax, Even Better Than The Real Thing. It’s twice as long as the version we’ve had on YouTube in the past and gives the full story, from the preparation to the handcuffs. Enjoy!
The much-requested Moebius video is finally online, a little over four years after we created that time loop in the Astor Place Starbucks here in NYC. The Moebius was covered by This American Life’s radio broadcast in 2005, and is probably the most popular mission we’ve done. Don’t get your hopes up too high for this video, however, as it was crudely recorded with only one camera, poking out a dufflebag. Editor Andy van Baal did his best to make it look as slick as possible for your viewing enjoyment.
This week’s Video Vault brings us the Best Gig Ever mission video online for the first time. You may have seen some of this footage already as part of This American Life’s television show which aired this spring on Showtime. You can still see our episode for free online (we’re the 2nd half of the show.)
Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents. The group is based in New York City.
