Black Tie Beach was an event staged by Improv Everywhere annually from 2010 to 2014 in August. A diverse group of people of all ages spend a day at the beach wearing black tie attire. Participants enter the beach separately in small grounds and proceed to sunbathe, play games, and swim in the ocean, all in formal wear. Participants are instructed to find cheap tuxedos and ball gowns at thrift stores for the occasion. The event has gone global, with people in other cities organizing their on Black Tie Beach on the same day. While we are taking a break from Black Tie Beach in 2015, we may bring it back another year! Join our mailing list to be the first to know.
