UPDATE: Details for NYC / Details for other cities

The 10th Annual No Pants Subway Ride will take place on Sunday, January 9 in New York City. More info with the meeting point and start time will be posted to this site in early January. For now, save the date. You can RSVP on Facebook.

Once again we are encouraging folks in other cities around the world to stage their own No Pants rides on the same day. Here is the list of cities who participated last year. Anyone organizing a regional No Pants event should let us know by leaving a comment on this post along with all of the necessary details. The lead organizer must also send us an email via our contact form. In a few weeks we will publish a list of all participating cities along with links to any Facebook events. Groups have staged the event on trolleys, light rails, and buses in the past, so don’t let a lack of subway system stop you! 44 cities participated last year. Check the list linked above to see if one happened in your city last year before trying to start your own (preference will go to the prior year’s organizers.)

If you are unfamiliar with this tradition, you can read the history here: The No Pants Subway Ride.

Comments

  1. We are more ready than ever! Had almost a month now of snowy, chilly weather to practise. Lots of eager people have their pants already half way down.
We will definitely beat last years 8 participants and all time high in Stockholm. (Our very first NoPant Ride was 2010)

  2. No Pants Bike Ride/Public Transportation Ride. Either in Amsterdam (anybody else started it yet?) or in Maastricht in the southern tip of the Netherlands.

Let me know if you’re interested!!!

Hello Los Angeles and welcome to the 3rd Annual No Pants Metro Ride!

Ride the train just as anyone would on any given normal day, just without pants (note that this is NO PANTS day, not NO UNDERWEAR day. We don’t want anyone arrested for indecent exposure). We’d like to emphasize the importance of acting casual – like pantslessness is a normal thing – and acting like you do not know any of your fellow riders nor why they are also pantsless. More info to come . .

  3. Please note that I added a request above for the lead organizer of each event to send us an email via our contact form. This is so we have an official contact for someone from each event so we can coordinate things a little smoother this year. If you want to be listed on our site, you’ll have to make sure you do this. Thanks!

  4. Hi guys!

Shoqs will be organising a No Pants Subway Ride in Amsterdam, The Netherlands once again! Info will be posted on our website shoqs.nl a.s.a.p. The Facebook-event can be found here: facebook.com/event.php?eid=171993672823227

  5. did you send out an email for this?? i havent gotten ANY since i joined somewhere in august. I think I may have signed up wrong. could someone please send me the instructions for signing up? Because after i get the confirmation letter, it says to respond with the subject as header intact. i did so, and im i right? please respond, as i really like improv everywhere and would like to participate, as i live in NYC.

  6. Hey Everybody!

Make sure to set your Facebook event public enough so those of us without a Facebook account can still see the details.

    Thanks!

    – Nelz

    • Do you live there? We’ve been invited to Design Indaba and will be staging an Mp3 Experiment and one other event (to be determined.) First time in Africa!

  7. Thanks to everyone who has sent me an email about their No Pants event. I will send out some official information to all the group leaders in the near future.

If you are staging a No Pants event, remember to send me an email per the instructions in this post.

  8. I hope Calgary has one again this year. Please keep me posted… If not, I will have to fly to somewhere in the world ans find a ride!

  9. Thank you for making this available to all of us shomer shabbos people who have not been able to participate in past years!

  10. Hey, is anyone doing it in Paris ? I know I know, after what we saw today, with all the snow and stuff, you feel kinda chilly, but hey, it would be great to have one !

So if anyone is starting one in Paris, let me know ;p

  11. I want to get Wellington, New Zealand in on this. I’ll have to work on a route and set up a facebook page…

  12. Seems like São Paulo will be participating along with the rest of the world this year. It’ll during a hot hot summer, but hopefully in a somewhat fresher night. We will soon get in contact with details.

  13. Hey!!

    This sounds like a RIOT!!!

Does anyone know if Halifax NS is doing one? I guess it would be on the bus system!!! ~ggls

  14. Don’t know if anyone has stepped forward for Montreal, but there are people here who’d love to see it happen.

  15. For New York City, there seems to be less people will participate this year than last year. Last year almost 7000 responded attending on fb, this year the # has not reached 5000. Is it possible the event will loss its popularity in the near future?

    • Pretty crazy that an event that has been promoted with one email, one blog post, one tweet, and two facebook updates only has 4700 RSVPs on Facebook.

(Patience, James. It’s 12 days away.)

  16. I’m trying to get people in the Southeast Michigan / Northwest Ohio area to ride the Detroit People Mover on the 9th.

Leave me a message here if you are interested. I will be putting something up on Facebook later today.

  17. Chicago??? The links posted are not to current information. Is there someone in charge of chicago yet? Is it scheduled? Willing to organize if no one has.
