Jar Jar Subway Car (April Fool’s 2011)

This project was faked for April Fool’s Day 2011. Check out the behind-the-scenes page to see how we pulled it off.

For our latest mission, we attempted to stage a sequel to our Star Wars Subway Car mission, using characters from Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Jar Jar Binks entered a random train car and informed subway riders that he was scared that Darth Maul was chasing him. If things had gone as planned, people would have laughed and been surprised when Darth Maul showed up at the next stop.

Unfortunately, three men on the train decided to ruin the fun for everyone by assaulting our actor playing Jar Jar. We were not going to even post this mission, but the actor who played Jar Jar wants to press charges, and we are searching for information on the three guys who attacked him. We hope that someone who sees this video will know them personally or recognize their faces.

Here is the best photo we have of them:

If you have any information, please get in touch with us, either via our contact form, or leaving a comment below. Thank you for your help. We’ll be back with a new mission soon. We’re not letting three idiots scare us away from continuing our mission to stage positive, funny stunts in public places.

And so this post isn’t a total downer, here’s our Star Wars Subway Car video to give you a laugh:

Comments

  1. Make jokes all you want people, but putting your hands on someone else is never f*cking acceptable. It’s elementary rules, really — keep your damn hands to yourself. Immature elitist bastards. Like they are so much superior that they feel that have the right to put their hands on someone else. I hope you guys manage press charges & then some. You have the right to wear whatever you want to wear, they haven’t the right to intervene. Also, kudos for keeping the spirit alive. There is much more spontaneous joy to spread around the world, even with people like this trying to ruin it. Go forth & improv EVERYWHERE. :)

  2. This is an OUTRAGE! I hope you find these bastards – that was SUPER UNCOOL what they did to Jar Jar. I mean, I know he was super annoying and practically RUINED Episode IV, but I mean, really – stop with the violence PEOPLE!

  3. The guys said to get out of his face, Jar Jar didn’t. That doesn’t mean it’s right, but perhaps when someone says “get out of my face” one should listen. I love your videos, but even you all might go to far. It looks like the actor was not hurt, just a bit shaken. maybe you all will learn something from this.

  4. I hope your actor is ok, and that you are able to find these guys so he can press charges. I hope this doesn’t deter you from continuing on your mission to bring comedy to the masses when we least expect it!

  5. I agree with cnits, the guy said get out of my face and the actor continued to violate his space. I don’t live in NY where people have to deal with cramped conditions frequently, but if I did, and anyone came that close to me wearing a mask, then didn’t back away when asked to, I may have resorted to using force to protect myself as well! Most of your stunts are amusing, and harmless enough, this one obviously went too far.

  6. Due to the fact that there is an ongoing investigation about this, and there is alot of hate and negativity being posted here, I am going to close the comments on this post.
